Full Job Description
JOB: To provide effective leadership to Embroidery Team for internal/contract Embroidery Operation
-Coordinate production workflow: needs to be able to strategically plan weekly and daily workflow to meet shipping deadlines.
-Professional communication and coordination with In House client necessary on daily basis.
-Maintain embroidery staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees, coordinating employee workflow schedules for high and low seasons. Must have prior experience managing and scheduling production personnel.
-Understand logistics of running Contract Embroidery production floor with varying job duties such as un-baggers, machine operators, trimmers, steamers and folders.
-Must have prior knowledge and experience of duties included as an Embroidery Operator, ability to operate Ricoma machines is a plus, knowledge of light machine maintenance necessary.
-Understanding of Chroma digitizing software is a plus.
-Monitor and control production output by scheduling and assigning machine operators, and support staff such as steamers, baggers and folders to meet shipping deadlines.
-Monitor quality control of embroidered logos to ensure high quality.
-Work all hours may be required during periodic rush season to meet customer commitments.
-Monitor payroll, work hours, time off requests, bonus plans
Achieve maximum productivity from staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; improve morale and motivation.
-Calibrate and set up embroidery machines at the beginning of each shift, to ensure that it works according to standards.
-Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on embroidery machines to ensure that they remain in good working order as required by machine specifications. Clean & oil machine daily, or as needed.
-Perform multiple tasks on an assigned project.
-Thread embroidery machines
-Hoop garments accurately according to requested customer specifications
and properly and set it under the needle to perform embroidery patterns.
-Load designs to flash drives as well as load designs from media devices to embroidery machines
-May participate in programs for developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures. Perform multiple tasks on a project.
-Openly communicate with management to confirm any specific instructions on embroidery work and patterns prior to embroidery
-Be able to troubleshoot problems encountered. (Tech available for calls for advanced problems)
-Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area.
-Accountable for delivery of own tasks to agreed time and quality standards
-Review work orders to determine the specific embroidery design and thread colors
-Maintenance and upkeep of embroidery equipment and work area
-Knowledge of, and ability to work with, multiple types of fabrics, patterns, colors, and designs.
-Attention to detail & superior time management and attendance.
-Ability to stand for up, and rarely exceeding, to 8 hours per day.
-Strong coaching and supervisory experience in fast paced environment
-This is NOT a desk job, must be able to motivate by example and be an integral part of the floor operation
-Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively
-Demonstrates initiative with good follow-up skills
-Strong oral & written communication skills
-Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency, as well as understanding Embroidery Digitizing software.
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (boxes) and be on feet most of the time
-Ability to work in a high volume/high stress environment
-Spanish as second language a plus
